What a weekend! In addition to a lovely wedding downtown on Saturday, my family kept me busy with some retail therapy. We've been saving up for a new dining table for awhile now (the one we have is one scratched up piece of work. I don't even know how it got to that point). On Sunday, we finally headed over to a store, buckled down and bought one with a few chairs to match. Check! But the craziest purchase? My husband bought my son a used lil motor dirtbike off Craigslist for his birthday. My son is six. Still trying to sort through all my feelings about this, but Rye is definitely my husband's son. He got right on, revved the engine and proceeded to ride around our alley like he'd been born on one. The movie Toy Story freaks him out and he occasionally sucks his thumb, but he can hop on a motorbike without an ounce of fear. Go figure.
But enough of domestic stuff and back to flowers! Another one of my favorite photographers in Chicago, Kenny Nakai of
Nakai Photography, sent me some really amazing images from a wedding we did last July. When I think of Johanna and Jeremy and the look and feel they were going for for their special day, I immediately think fresh, unique, and fun as the words to sum it all up. The best part? One of my favorite centerpieces of 2009 is one that was done for this wedding. Johanna just loved the look of pomanders and we created one that had a lot of different sizes of pomanders piled simply in a glass tray. So simple, yet so fun!
